Finding Inspiration while at Home

If you're like me, we've been taking each day during COVID one day at a time. Somedays we have the motivation to conquer the day, others we just want to stay in bed, at least until 9 AM (sometimes longer). That is probably why I started trying to make our days at home a little more special. I had no intention to turn my experiences into a blog, but it gave me something else to do.

I've been using Pinterest probably since 2012 (co-workers had to tell me about it). I only wish I had it for my wedding! Everyone seems to have the picture-perfect events now! For the longest time, I had boards for inspiration butI never took advantage of it. In the past few years, I've tried a few crafts I found, but then in recent years, I started going directly looking for recipes. I've found some great recipes, and most of what I refer to in the blogs were found through the help of Pinterest!

Now, I know what you are thinking. So many things are too picture perfect on Pinterest. We know life isn't so pretty. I wanted this blog to be more realistic, especially in these times. I want to disconnect from our daily routine to make life a little more special since we are spending so much of our time at home. That includes being frugal!

I have never spent so much time at the Dollar Store than I have the past few months. My other choices are Amazon, Etsy, or eBay. Occasionally, Party City, if I can find a good deal. Don't get me wrong, I would prefer shopping local, but where I live, I don't have that option for an affordable local party supply store.

I just started a Pinterest account for Away Weekends @ Home to keep track of my inspirations for Weekends Away. I italicized inspirations, because it helps me to get ideas of how I can make it more budget-friendly or give me a totally new idea. I hope it does the same for you!

The point of my blog is to inspire you to keep making the most of this time at home. Start with past memories that you miss, favorite things, upcoming National or World Celebration Days, or a party you wish you'd have!

After you think of your theme, Pinterest search by your theme for party, food, games, cocktails, etc. You can also Google, which I love with helping me find movies. Then use your streaming music search to find the music!

Start jotting down your ideas and soon enough you'll have enough to make a day or even a weekend of ideas to have a great Away Weekend at Home!
